Bysel Realty and its owners have been faithful clients since the beginning for us, so needless to say we where very happy to be given the opportunity to restore this historic building on Main St. in Randolph, VT. This building for years had been used as an electronics repair shop. Throughout those years this it was lead further and further away from its former glory. When we got started there was certainly much to be done.

The first thing that we undertook was the restoration of the old tin ceiling. The ceiling was no doubt a glorious feature when at the start of this buildings life, but at this point it was buried by suspended ceilings and in severe dis-repair. After a thoroughly scraped and washed down it was ready for paint to be applied, and what a difference it maid. The second goal was to create and open layout for the new offices. To accomplish this we needed to remove an old hot air furnace that had been installed to heat the main floor (to later be replaced by new consolidated system that heated all three floors of the building) and remove the partition that once separated the repair shop from the store front. Once that was completed we where ready to embark on the re-construction and restoration phase.

There was only call for two enclosed offices with open desk out front. That in mind they the owners wanted to keep an open airy feel in the office. That was accomplished by stopping the walls at eight feet and leaving everything open to the ceiling. Things on the to-do list before paint included a skim coat on the old plaster walls, refinishing the old maple floors,and adding a long closet at the front of the building. Once all that was completed it was time for trim and paint. The three layer crown on that capped the walls was per BHB's design along with four component custom molded (on-site) door casings. When all was said and done this made for an exceptional place of business for an exceptional group of professionals.
