Braintree Hill Building answered the call by this Central, VT home owner to replace an old wrap around porch that was both non fnctional and in extreme dis-repair. After the initial consultaion we decided that removing the old porch all together and starting new was the best course of action. From there we formulated and plan and proceeded with the project.

One of our primary goals when doing any addition is to make it look like it has always belonged there. Wether it be matching trim details or trying to maintain similar lines, haveing additions that blend in and belong is important to us. In this case we where able to accompish this with some custom moulded trim details and careful attention to placement. Once the addition was completed we where very pleased with the results.

During the construction of the addition we decided to use special fetures such as closed cell spray foam insulation and energy star rated windows to acheive a highly efficiant structure that heats with ease. Using the polyurethane foam also resolved some issues haveing to do with venting and moisture migration. Building sciences are very important to us and influence every design dessision and construction detail that we do. It is a part of our work that is all to often neglected by many builders. When it came time to build the deck low maintenance and looks where a top priority. We desided to use Tuscan Walnut composite decking with simulated wood grain to acheive this. Though not as strong as wood, with proper construction details the decking will not show the "sagging" many fear. Another addvantage was that the density of the product is well suited to stand up against all the shoveling we do here in our northeastern winters.

Upppon completion of the project our clients where extrmly sattisfied with the finished product. We where told "We spend more time in this room than anywhere in the house" which does not suprice us considering the thought we put into it and the quality constructiuon details we used.
